6" Depth
At all three temperatures the material, when tested at a 6 inch depth, met the ASTM standard when impacted at a height of 6 feet, bur does not meet the standard at 7 feet or more.
Conclusion: At a 6 inch depth, the product sufficiently attenuates the impact forces at 6 feet or less, under the temperature conditions tested, to meet ASTM HIC standard.

9" Depth
At ambient and hot temperatures, the product, when tested at a 9 inch depth, met the ASTM standard when impacted at 9 feet or less but did not meet the standard when impacted at 10 feet or more.
When frozen the product met the standard at 8 feet or less but did not meet the standard at 9 feet or more.

Conclusion: At a 9 inch depth, the product sufficiently attenuates the impact forces at 9 feet or less when at 70 to 120 degrees F, and at 8 feet or less when frozen, to meet the ASTM HIC standard.

12" Depth
The product, at a 12 inch depth, met the ASTM standard when impacted at 11 feet or less for all temperature conditions. This was the upper limit of our testing facility.

Conclusion: At a 12 inch depth, the product sufficiently attenuates the impact forces at 11 feet or less, at all temperatures tested, to meet the ASTM HIC standard.

ASTM stresses that the F 1292-91 standard "does not purport to address the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to its use."
